All year round, I head out with my camera to take photos in the local area or whilst on holiday. I use these photos as a source of inspiration for both my jewellery and my other projects.

I paint mainly portraits on canvas using oil paint, seeking above all to capture the silence behind the gaze, but also the beauty of a person’s face in relation to the light and the (colour) surroundings.

Trees Verburg-König has been writing storybooks for young children aged 3 to 7 for over 10 years. She writes and illustrates the books and also composes songs to accompany them. The music helps the children to experience the story even more fully. Her best-known book is ‘Oscar!’, the tortoise.

My work consists of paintings created with natural pigments, in which forms, symbols and colours take centre stage; through this visual language, I express my inner world whilst also seeking to show something that is recognisable to everyone. The meaning revolves around the connection and relationships between people, nature, the world and the universe, within which themes from society also find a place.

My painting style moves between abstraction and figuration. In my work, I seek a balance between colour, form and emotion.
